Re: Where did all the pike fishermen go?
Okay, so now it doubled. The pike fishery is a hot topic, just look at previous posts from years ago. It's unfortunate but reality. Pike are still very much here but suppression efforts have certainly hurt or been successful depending on your point of view. I use to travel from Puyallup to the POR a...

Re: Where did all the pike fishermen go?
I "think" most of us are still around but keeping reports more limited due to the removal/netting. I would love to say more but I also expect an error message to pop up as it seems this website is having serious issues and no point it trying to be helpful when the post doesn't show up. If the proble...

Re: Your favorite this year
This year hasn't been to exciting on the musky front. Stuck on various projects etc. We fish a ton but on our little lake here. WDFW hasn't planted any tigers here yet and I'm still knocking on the door to have Kapowsin stocked. On a much better note, I got my nephew over his first tiger, a desert t...

Re: Portable aerator recommendations
Kevinb is back in the house?! I think it's been 5 years since I've seen you on here. Maybe you moved to Idaho? Anyway, yeah.. you had it right. I'm talking about the aerators that people add to coolers to make a live well for a boat fishing a tourney that does not have a live well. Actually though,...

Re: Portable aerator recommendations
Are you talking about the type of aerator that could be attached to say, a large cooler? My apologies if I'm missing the boat on this. This is what I've seen when participating at the North Idaho Pike Association's tourneys, modified livewells so to speak.

Native Freshwater Shrimp?
Hey folks, sort of a random question but I'm curious to know if we (Pacific Northwest) have native freshwater shrimp in any of our waters. I recently purchased a home in rural Pierce County that has a pond. I wanted to add feeder shrimp such as ghost shrimp for the smaller fish and newts with the ad...

Re: Northern Pike Caught In Lake Washington
Although I don't think this is nearly as bad as the hysteria that follows. No doubt that this will have a negative impact on all esox species and anglers. The typical "Your fish killed my fish" response and fallout. This will certainly have a negative impact on the Washington tiger musky fishery. Av...

Re: Question about barbless hooks/selective gear rules
Kevin, never hurts to have all your rules covered.. You do not need to buy 'barbless hooks' Yes, just crimp them down. A good test is to run the crimped barb over your thumb nail to see if it is truly crimped down. As for the rest of the 'bait-less' portion of the rule... no bait includes, no scent...

Question about barbless hooks/selective gear rules
This is probably a no brainer question but I don't ever fish waters with these rules, however, I'm heading out in 2 weeks and checking out a lake that has these rules. Can I simply crimp down the barb? or do I need to just purchase barbless hooks? I suppose it might not be a big deal but I'd hate to...

Re: Early season go-to lures?
Hey Kev; I'm a big spinnerbait guy too. My PB ski came off a white terminator years ago. I don't think I ever have a spinnerbait free day on the water. A guy I took to Newman was using my favorite yellow/silver musky candy spin and a 47" tiger turned it into an inline spinner in about 9 seconds. Sm...

Re: Early season go-to lures?
Only in recent memory have I been tossing Dawgs. Todd and Ryan got me hooked on those and finally I feel more comfortable with chucking those. My body of work for Spring time musky is rather limited, this isn't to say I'm not out there but I quickly fall back into old and sometimes bad habits. In ma...

Re: East side tiger tournament, Spring 2016???
That's great! I just happen to be familiar with Silver Lake. Thank you. I have to dust off the double-top secret spring time lure I use. Dude!, it's been to long. You already know this but obviously Silver is an awesome lake. I was fortunate to participate with Mountain Muskies a few different time...

Re: Grass Pickerel?
Nothing wrong with pickerel. Very cool fish. I'm sure they are in a few other lakes in the region but I'd certainly take YB and hewesbob's advice. As you already mentioned, Eloika is another. Good luck out there and keep us posted.

Re: Article Pike in Lake Roosevelt
So what is 76+44+17.....137. How does a pike eat more than 100% of their diet? I assume they are using common core because it doesn't make sense but I suppose it doesn't have to so as long as money is to be made and the people making the decisions buy what is being sold, even if the math doesn't ma...
