Re: Ice Reports 2011-2012
10-12 " on Curlew as well............. finding the fish is definitely a challenge this winter. Williams lake north of Colville has 8" halfway out to the aerator. The aerator area is open water for about 25' around it. Pierre has a good 16-18" of ice and the road to the launch is plowed, making acces...

Re: Curleew Lake

The 30 ft hole even had a big log right beside my lure (I was thinkin structure. YAAAA. 11 ft had weeds (...

Re: Pierrre Lake, Wa
Yes, I've heard the Pike rumor.......... I have never seen one in the lake (I do fish it lots). I know there are Pike and Tiger musky's in the vicinity (Pend D Oreille and Curlew Lk). I use bismuth weights........ Its easier, since I already use them in soft water conditions in BC to flyfish. The ga...

Re: Curleew Lake
I havent tried for muskies through the ice........ yet. I have fished pike in the prairies that way with good success. I was thinkin of using a smelt through the ice, but Im unsure of Musky wintering grounds to target (they have to be 50" or greater to keep in Curlew....... I do C&R). I have a good ...

Re: shallow trout
I only caught 6-10 inchers today in 13 ft of water. do you think they are looking for food sources or prespawn drawn to springs near the shoreline? What about the substrate............. gravel? weeds? if there is only 2-3 ft you should have a good idea of the bottom structure?

Re: Curleew Lake
Just back from fishing Curlew. Great sunny day to be on the ice. Un fortunately, the highlight of my day was a USAF F18 doin a north bound fly by at 100' off the deck (probably our of Spokane).................. I could see the pilot looking at me as he went over head. I did manage to catch a couple ...
