Pontoon boat anchor weight and style recommendations
Hi all, hope everyone is having a great holiday season. I recently picked up a 12 foot two man pontoon boat for drifting rivers (Northfork Outdoors Outlaw Challenger), and was wondering if any of you had recommendations for anchor weight/style for the rivers in Western WA. I'll primarily be using it...

Re: Spiney rays
Might try Black Lake. There used to be some decent shore access there, but I have not fished it in several years. Helps if I would have read your whole post, just noticed that you tried black lake already. I echo the Deep Lake suggestion below.

Re: Vance Creek Pond 2 (Lake Inez)
My best luck there has come on soft plastics fished with light or no weight (i.e. soft stick baits), and/or minnow style baits like a floating and/or suspending Rapala. Given the contour changes on the far end, a mid to deep diving crank and/or a jig might also be productive.

Re: Vance Creek Pond 2 (Lake Inez)
The bank access is okay on both ends of the lake, but the sides are hit and miss (a lot of brush/plant life and steep banks). Salmoln & Steelhead on rivers, use in Sound for both along with crabbing, and some lake use with the family.

opinions on boats
I have been debating getting a new boat, but am torn between several brands. Does anyone have strong opinions for or against Hewes Craft, Woolridge, Alumacraft or similar brands? Any input would be appreciated.
