Re: Skok
Just curious what set up you guys use out there? I'm new to river fishing. I know snagging is BS and people outta be beat for it, but it sounds like a lot of people use black corkies and yarn and just set the hook when they feel the line twitch... Flossing I believe? That sounds pretty dirty too no?...

MA 10 Salmon
OK, so I'm new to fishing but had a pretty good ling season and I'm ready for salmon. Well sorta ready. I've got a little boat, and a fishing pole... I would like to stay local. I live in Seattle so anywhere in Elliot bay or around Blake Island. So my biggest question is.... When do they get HERE!?!...

Re: White (Calico ) Salmon
I don't know too much about fishing, however I do know a lot about anatomy. White flesh comes from an abundance of Fast Twitch muscle fibers where as darker colored meats come from slow twitch muscle fibers. The dark color comes from the higher concentration of hemoglobin which is the means to carry...

Re: Ling fishing Puget Sound
Have had pretty good luck with the Lings, but now that I've got a bunch in my freezer, I'd rather let them grow up for next year. Any suggestions on catching cabs?

Re: Open spot on Boat
How do you target dog fish? Are they worth eating? I have a boat but haven't hooked up my down rigger yet.

Re: Ling fishing Puget Sound
I've gone 3 for 3 so far. Also out fishing the guys that were using live bait in the same area. Those fish are Big, Mean, and Dumb! (If I can catch them, you know they're DUMB! haha) I caught mine on a lead head jig and another on a big shiny metal bar with a hook on it. By the time most people were...

Re: Ling fishing Puget Sound
This will be my first time Ling fishing. I've got wed-thurs off so I'll be heading out first thing in the morning and launching in west seattle. I've got a 15.5 foot Zodiac. Might need a few pointers and someone to help drink the beer. Anyone want to fill a seat in the boat? (Ok, not actually a seat...
