We caught a few perch but the bite went absolutely dead after fighting that Muskie. I'm sure his swimming below the hole scattered the perch. If I were a little perch, I would scatter to if I saw that guy swimming around.

Three of us went to Newman last week and had the lake to ourselves. We had not fished the lake before so stuck to the area around the pads and the public launch on the south side. Has anyone tried recently to fish Newman? About 10 days ago, I stopped by but the public access wasn't plowed so don't see where one could park. Anyone got any ideas?

Eloika has been decent recently for perch. Fish aren't too big though. We've been going out from the public launch. Haven't gone out from Jerry's Landing yet but may try it some time. Jerry's is charging $3.00 for access to the lake.
