WOW i am a little surprised no one has picked STURGEON, They get my vote due to the pure size and fight, and the rarity of the fish, and a litttle icing on the cake is they are by far IMO the best smoked fish out there.

Im not sure if im too late, for your trip. I am not familiar with the lake that you are fishing, When i lived in Colorado thats all i used to fish for, (lake Granby) summer time you have to go deep 80-100ft, lakers can be tough to figure out. The main lure of choice that worked the best is Tube jigs...

What kind of fish are you looking to catch? Warm water ? I would recommend Wiper especially if you have never caught one before. They are a hybrid bass between a striper and a white bass, they can be kinda of tough to catch but if you hook into one its something that you will never forget, Phenomena...

i am gonna have to agree with fishing fool, I would not be caught dead without a kastmaster among my gear especially a red and gold body, hands down one of the better lures on the market. Im also a big beliver in rapalas especially the new x-raps.
