RE:Ice Reports...
I don't think there are any "pike minnows" in Eloika. Please check the following links for confirmation, as the only trash fish listed for the lake are tench, and depending on how you look at it, the bull heads. Im not so dense to think that maybe somebody hasn't put some true northern pike in there...

Hog Canyon, Fourth of July, and Sprague reports: 12/28/08
Hog canyon the gate was locked and your in for a real long walk to get to the lake. A walk my buddies and I had no intention of making in 2+ feet of snow so Im not sure on the ice there. Fourth of July was very very slushy and the ice was varying in depth from 2-4 inches. We fished it at the first n...

My first and only so far. Started working for a new plumbing company and they have me working 6 days a week. Doesn't leave much time for fishing.

RE:My Tiger mount
I caught it last year at Newman lake, you can read the report on this site somplace if you look at Newman lake reports.
Gary Blew of Fish Designs did the mount, it took him almost a year and a little over 900 dollars.

My Tiger mount
I finally got it back. Very impressive skin mount. Please don't tell me the benefits of getting a replica done, I don't care to hear it again and again and again. =) 42" 20.9lbs

RE:Eastside Bass
Eloika is still pretty frozen I hear. Ive been to Liberty 4 times since March 1st already. My first day out there we limited out on browns and brooders, big ones at that. I took my boys out for a few hours but it was to cold for them to fish much and I wasn't able to pick anything up with a jig for ...

RE:Open Seat
I stopped by the launch at Newman Wednesday afternoon. Theres some open water near the outlet and the ice looks likes its ready to start breaking up. No way to launch a boat there right now. I was thinking of borrowing a Jon boat and launching from the resort (used to be called cherakee landing, but...

RE:F & W Commission Approves 50" Minimum Size
I won't keep another tiger unless its a state record. The mount I had done cost plenty as it was. You can look up some of Gary Blew's work. He won his share of competitions, no need for me to get a foam carver as a replacement. Keep in mind we are all entitled to our opinions, no matter how they dis...

RE:F & W Commission Approves 50" Minimum Size
50" is excessive. Its not the educated fishermen that ruin our fisheries. Its the people that don't know any better. Twice last year at Newman I saw people with tigers. One guy and his wife were trout trolling and caught a nice 30-32 incher. They kept it saying its the biggest fish they had caught i...

RE:42" out of Newman
Thanks for the PM's and advice guys. After that fish I definately need to change leaders and will look into the ones mentioned. As for me keeping it, well, I did. I won't keep another one unless its throat or gill hooked and has no chance of living or if I think I have a record. You guys can't serio...

42" out of Newman
Seems most people that actually fish for tigers go to some lake calles "Tapps". No need =). Head to Newman lake and throw a bluefox supra vibrax, black with a red streamer..... I went to work Wednessday for gold seal plumbing like normal, but I knew I was working on a house on Newman lake so I broug...
