Re: Baker Lake, Shannon Creek Launch
I'll add a little more info. I've camped and launched at Baker Lake, leaving boat tied up on beach with no problems except one time when the water level went down and we had to push boat out. Just don't put it too far up on beach... Mosquitoes are definitely bad. Depending on the lake level, the "la...

Re: North of Seattle Marine Mechanics
I have had good results with Cascade Marine in Everett. As with nearly all shops you need to get on their calendar, but these guys know their stuff, do good work and have even talked me through some motor issues when I was out on the water and motor wouldn't start.

Re: Looking for Snohomish small boat advice.
All of the above is good advice. I would also suggest to launch and explore the river at a low tide. The stumps, logs, and deadheads in the water will give you a better idea of where to go and where not to go. I have seen boats with props past the railroad bridge above Snohomish and up past the Pilc...

Re: 1991 Wooldridge Xtra Plus for sale
Thanks Matt, I truly enjoyed fishing out of this boat. My goals were to have Half the fun and catch half the fish that you did when you owned it, I think I was able to only accomplish the fun portion of my goals. Ha ha. The boat is a fish catching machine.

SOLD PLEASE DELETE 1991 Wooldridge Xtra Plus for sale
This site has been invaluable to me in more ways than one. I found this boat here when Matt put it up for sale a few years ago and have had a blast with it every since. But as I have fished more my choices of places to fish have changed so I bought a larger boat to get me into some deeper water. Her...

RE:Snohomish River Boat ramps, low tide, and fishing
It sound like your son wants to go fishing and you would like to get on the Snohomish. Why not wait on the river until tides are better suited for the locations you would like to fish and get out on the salt and let him have some fun?! It also sounds like you want to get out in the morning. There is...

RE:Flow of the Stilli?
I use USGS to see what the flows are. According to it, the level appears to be rising. http://waterdata.usgs.gov/wa/nwis/uv?cb_00060=on&cb_00065=on&format=gif_default&period=30&site_no=12167000 However, if I'm going somewhere and will be anywhere close to water I'd say take the gear. You don't have ...

RE:Got any goals for the upcoming salmon season?
Thanks for starting the thread. My goals: 1. Fish with friends. 2. Help son-in-law catch a steelhead on Skykomish (he's fly fisher from OR). 3. Get other son-in-law even more excited about fishing (he grew up in Greenwich Village and has fished only once with me last year) 4. Try fishing in Puget So...

RE:Im getting the pinks itch!!! when can i have at em?
There has been some very good advice given here. I hope this will also help you and others in similar situations. 1. Get used to using your boat in a lake. Do this at non-peak-use times. Practice launching & loading to get efficient and driving to maneuver with confidence. 2. Do the same on the Snoh...

RE:Stillaguamish River
I haven't seen the regs for when the river will be open for salmon this year, but July seems a little early. What about summer run steelhead on the North Fork? It's been quite awhile since I've done any walking along the river, but there are lots of access points; just depends on what you're looking...

RE:Portion of North Fork Stillaguamish River will be closing to fishing
Is there somebody who understands what is going on with any/all of these closures??? It would be easier to take if I had any sense of what they're doing and why. I keep reading that WDFW is closing rivers because it "is necessary in order to collect sufficient fish to meet broodstock needs." Do they...

RE:Don't Forget To Display Your Parking Pass/Ticket
Are you talking about a boat launch site on the Snohomish? Two of them (Langus and Rotary) do not recognize or allow you to use the pass you get when you buy a fishing license. They require you to pay $5 and post a tag in the window. I did this last year but this year bought a pass for the entire ye...
