RE:Whats up with the Jack Holes at the cow
i think having a leader length of of over three feet your a flosser, and i i also think if your not drifting bait with your rig your a flosser as will my own opinion but thats just how it is looked at now a days with all these idiots out there posting videos of them selfs giving flossing lessons. I ...

RE:Whats up with the Jack Holes at the cow
i agree with jacksonbrown using bait really is the only way to actualy try and catch these fish legal, becasue of the mass crowds of people who think that string three or more corkies together and have there "Secret corkie color" it just does not work unless you are drifting eggs man. I just feel ba...

RE:Whats up with the Jack Holes at the cow
If you go to a place that is a known combat hole...i mean really what do you expect ? They should just not allow any fishing at the damn anyways...i dont know there is just something about rapeing spawning beds that gets me. Id say scout your own spots stay off spawning beds and the fishing is much ...

i nice will placed jig/bobber set up would do just fine with maybe some nice cured prawn on the end of that jig, and i would work that outer part of the seam and just watch the bobber go down from there.

RE:what rivers are hot or getting good catches?
look on the wdfw website and look at the steelhead smolt releases from a few years and go off by that instead of using hear say from people, thats prolly one of the best ways of going about this, little research goes a long way ;)

RE:float vs tradiontional drift fishing
Jig and bobber is getting more attention cuz there is less of a learning curve and its really simple to get, its not rocket science at all and just about anyone can learn how to do it perfect in just a matter of a couple trips out really, but if you really want to shine em on try float fishing with ...

RE:Dollies?
If your gonna target dollies go barbless and think spoons spoons and more spoons that are copper, they love to chase things down like a steelhead and a coho, but if i were you i would try not to target them since you cant keep them anywere. They are a great looking fish prolly my favorite looking tr...

If your gonna try some fly fishing and its a small creek i would try nymphing its some what easy to learn and the bead head nymphs are small and natural looking and you wont spook the steelhead with a clump of clumsy yarn. Nymphing is not true fly fishing but it is very effective and i like to use i...

RE:Can I Use Small Red Beads Instead Of Corkies?
you can use straight trout beads but kinda add extra puffy yarn to keep it off the bottom cuz it will not float like a corkey, but if you are fishing the puke then its kinda like pissing in the wind unless you add some un cooked prawn or maybe some tight roe so the 2 or 3 steelhead in that river can...

RE:Please help this Steelhead rookie.
Best rig to use in my opinion to get into your first steel is jig and bobber by far, you stay in the strike zone a lot longer and with some uncooked/cured prawn its gonna get slammed by steel, also a great method for the green in my opinion is spoons and some times spinners but mainly spoons though,...

lol i like how i get grilled for showing the guy good fishing edicate, and as far as the whole debate on flossing its legalized snagging and we all know this we dont need to go any further then that nuff said. As far as leader length is concerned and being in diffrent types of water colums, if there...

RE:How Do I Set Up A Corky And Yarn Rig?
The illistration that big D posted is correct but the leader length that flinginpoo is incorrect sorry to say it, you dont need more then 3 feet of leader no matter what the water condition is. If you have a 10 ft + leader all you are doing is either A: Snagging the poor fish or B: flossing the poor...

Chum77, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but this is the future of steelheading in Western Washington. The state is going to manage the rivers for wild fish recovery to avoid getting steelhead ESA listed. There will be no hatchery plants in various places along a river. The only rivers that will...
