Lake Washington and 17.5 ft Nitro NX750

Post by cajunlat » Thu Aug 23, 2007 1:07 pm

Wanting to go fish Lake Washington for smallmouth's, but worried about how rough it is. Does anyone know how a 17.5 ft Nitro NX750 would handle in Lake Washington? Is it better to fish north or south of 520? I'll be coming from Port Orchard in Kitsap..... which launch should I use?
Anybody want to share any areas to find the smallies?

Thanks

That boat should handle Washington. We use the launch on Mercer Island under the i-90 bridge, it's a nice launch and is generally not-that crowded. I'm the vice-president of Longlake bass club and we are located in Kitsap County. If you ever want to come to a meeting or just hook up to fish drop me a line.

Theres a flat to the right and across from that launch, the name escapes me but it always holds fish.

I have an 884 Savage so its not quite a foot longer and it handles the lake pretty darn well. If you go on a super sunny day you might get tired of the swells but the boat will handle it. I have caught a few smallies in the little inlet just before the I90 bridge. Besides that i am not very good on washington.

If anyone who knows Washington wants to meet up and get a free lift PM me. I'm looking to go out Monday

I have a 17.5' alum bass tracker with a 75hp, it does fine at Lake Wash. If it's too windy, you can just hide around Mercer island. If your having second doubts, I'll trade you my boat for yours.

your not going to the ocean man, i have a 14' smokercraft and i do fine. but i would suggest going out early unless you like playboaters. the entire east chanel down to renton has good fishing. dropshots = fish

I was just out there today in my 18 foot. Jumping wakes doing 50 is fun  Did pretty good with drop shots, caught 8 SM's in a little over 3 hours, biggest was only 1.9 lbs. If you are doubting your Nitro, it must be one knarly ride. Good luck out there.
