Puyallup Sportsman Show

Post by marktfd88 » Wed Dec 01, 2010 6:28 pm

So I have been asked to do some seminars this year at the sportsman show, so I had a question as to what do some of you anglers want to hear about? Don't know yet who else will be speaking, but I'm sure they will have an all star line up again.

How about something on deepwater wacky rig fishing, drop shots, or other winter techniques given the time of year of the show?

Last weekend of January. Not to go off topic on Mark, but WL.com will be there again this year.

Mark - how about BIG bait fishing for trophy bass?

That would be a topic better suited for Tag Watson. He's a busy man now a days, would LOVE to see that seminar.

Definitely not my expertise area. Tag would be the man for that.

I would love to give a seminar on big baits. My favorite topic by far.

Unfortunately, I will be out of the State all of January and February for the most part working industry, distributor and buying group shows for my company. However, I like to check the site frequently even when I am in my hotel room at night on the road. It's like a little piece of home. Helps me feel connected. Feel free to ask any big bait questions and I will always get back with a reply when I have an opportunity.

Take care and happy holidays,

I would second that!

Marc, I would think something on line use and preference is always a good topic. A lot of people don't understand the use of line when it comes to weight, diameter, flouro, mono, hybrid, braided and when to use them. As far as baits, d-shot is always a great seminar. Another topic that is worth it's weight in gold is talking about rods and how to use them for different techniques. The sensitivity and feel. The backbone and grip. The weight and balance.
For me a topic of interest would be modifying and making custom baits. What works and why?

Why the time of day has better fishing than other times. When do the fish move to deeper water and why. Blue bird days and overcast what colors and size are best for bites throughout the year.
