Camron.that.fishn.guy is moving away. Lets wish him a hearty good-bye.

Post by rockjiggr » Sat Oct 01, 2011 12:02 am

Camron has become a friend of mine over this last summer. I have had the chance to take this young man bass fishing a couple of times and have really enjoyed it. He is a great kid who is passionate about fishing and learning to be a better fisher.

He is moving to another state as of next week so I thought I would encourage all of the folks on this board to wish him good luck as he travels to warmer climes. Should he ever return to Washington, he will be welcomed in my boat.

Please, lets all wish him well.

I hope he has success in his new state. I did good by moving out of Ill. to Wa. when I was about 24, I'm sure he'll be just fine. And yes if/when he comes back, even for just a visit, he'll be welcome.

Always wanting to wish people well in life. And fishing ventures even more, so I definitely wish him well wherever he ends up and good fishin' wishes of course too:cheers:

On behalf of Camron, I want to thanks guys for nice words. He was really encouraged when i told him that you all had responded.

I had the pleasure of taking him out again yesterday for a final trip to Summit and we did pretty well. He is getting better at fishing in general and has expanded his horizons on techniques, gear, and knowledge. He has already done some internet scouting on fishing opportunities in his soon to be new state. Noodling for catfish has interested him. Because he will be travelling to his new domicile by Greyhound, he has to relinquish a recent rod acquisition. He asked me if I would like to have it and I told him I have too many rods in the boat already, lol. I advised him to think of someone he knows who does not have enough gear and bless them with it. Pay it forward as it were. He agreed that would be a good idea.

He's a good kid and he has a lot of potential ahead of him in life. My hope is that the joys and lessons he experiences in fishing will help him navigate that uncertain road that he faces as a young man.

Thanks again for encouraging him. It is really a good feeling to see a young man embracing the sport that we love so much and to see others encourage that young man in it too is really cool.

I remember when he first joined her last spring asking all kinds of questions about trout fishing. He did what he could on this website through his cell phone. I remember helping the kid out with advise on catching stocker trout. I even looked up his little town, from his stories of riding his bicycle to fishing locations. Then a coupe weeks later under the mentorship of a WA Lakes member, he posted a report or thread of catching largemouth bass. Goodluck to Camron with his move. Thats very nice of you Rockjiggr to take him under your wing. Anyone can pick up a book to try to learn fishing, but the process of learning goes faster when you have a mentor.
