lack of coho south sound

Post by mitchm » Tue Oct 01, 2019 7:45 am

I am 70 years old, so cant fish everyday, but, have been hitting both Puyallup and Nisqually as much as I can, caught lots of pinks, caught fair share of kings, but where are the coho? Understand that our rains probably pushed a lot of them upriver, but as far as I could tell, runs have not materilazed! [ [sad] mitchm

I have fished only one river so far this season. And its been hit miss numbers of coho sorta there but not short lived I would say. Big push happened cause of the rain we had and then numbers of coho showing slowly dwindled. Stopped by lower river on the Duwamish just see what was poppin and not much poppin other than small trout or two. There Still fish in the ocean I assume. But seem like there filtering in sporadiacally. So one day good fishing dayor two later nothing. So far last two outing nothing. Not many rolling either. So struggle is real in some river systems. Don't know if there netting this year. But I have only tangled with two coho this year and both bit so soft. Caught me off guard didn't stick em good enough. by by to both. lol Usually fishing can be had well in to October for them on the green and even some kings still show up in mid to late October but this time year I can feel numbers are not there like they have in the past.
