Any recommendations on where to fish for these puppies in SW WA? I've fished for Sea-Runs in Oregon, but never in Washington

I fish for SRC from the Puget Sound beaches. Go check out http://www.washingtonflyfishing.com/board/No_Bad_Skunks wrote:Any recommendations on where to fish for these puppies in SW WA? I've fished for Sea-Runs in Oregon, but never in Washington
register here if you have to... and page down the salt forum and look for sea run info. and South Sound info. It wasn't clear where you are located when you said SW Washington. But that link is a great site, whether you are fly fishing or not, it will tell what is going on where.

This might be a little more north than you'd like but I know of
Lake Quinault and Wynoochee, both located at the south end of the Olympic mountain range.
I don't recall the names of the rivers though#-o

Huzzah! Word is they're 'killing 'em' in the lower Cowlitz, around Castle Rock.
I know where I'm headed tomorrow.

Sounds like you want to harvest them........If you fish for them in the salt (Puget Sound waters including estuaries), they are C-n-R only year round with barbles hooks only.No_Bad_Skunks wrote:Huzzah! Word is they're 'killing 'em' in the lower Cowlitz, around Castle Rock.

Success!
1-14"
1-14.5"
1-15.5"
Plus two other smaller ones released. (Actually, I wasn't looking to harvest them as much as I was looking for a sea-run cutt spot that was a fairly easy drive from PDX. )
Caught on inflated worms rigged with a small slinky. These little guys put up one heckuva fight.
Talked to an number of folks in boats that were doing quite well on the Chinook and/or Steelies. A fellow fishing down the bank from me also caught a steelhead.
