I just set the hook on everything I feel, it looks a lot like snagging, but it works for me...... [lol] [lol] [lol]

Dude ya think? I know what drift-fishing is Scott. I have found that rig many times this year on heavily fished rivers -cough cough- Skok/Cow for Salmon.

For Steelhead? and even my good friend Pooh is questioning this rig and I consider him a master drifter...I just don't get it. :-# :-#

I caught this fish today fishing a double hook rig with big ball of yarn and bigger eggs. I caught ten silvers, but the chromer hens I wanted to keep ended up being wild, all on that rig, with a small corky and yarn on it. Drift fishing. I love drift fishing, and it's not snagging. Not when you can see the fish swim from the opposite bank to grab your gear, and your gear is the only gear out there. I also had an even bigger steely break off. I got nothing on the bobber this time. I like to know exactly where the bottom is and exactly where my bait/lure is off the bottom. I float fish and I've caught fish that way a lot, but it just seems empty to me, without the tap tap tap off the bottom talking back to you, the physical violence of the strike, I dunno, when I'm not drifting the rod's slack and lonely, all you do is spool out line, reel in line. I know that it's extremely effective and will draw strikes when other methods fail, and so I use it, but I just love drifting.

the skookumchuck one of my old haunts. Went yesterday and texted you about it, my brother couldn't help it, he drove me out there and we made a day of it. Been awake since 3:30 and my arms are sore.

it was fantastic. I got my steel breaking the losing streak that I've been on lately. And got to tug on some silvers. Alas I didn't get the chance to get a hen, which was my main goal, I checked my freezer today and realized I only have on more bag of eggs to use for steel :(

All of this fish porn makes me hungry to come back and get some more salmon and steelhead on my line.
~Men and fish are alike. They both get into trouble when they open their mouths.

~My biggest worry is that my wife (when I'm dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.

When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

Just got back from the snoq, it's dead. Everybody was out but the fish weren't hungry. Just had to try out my new GLoomis rod and Curado that my wife got me for Christmas. I don't think I'll have to catch a fish on this setup because fishing with it is AMAZING. I was giddy all morning.
