Everytime I lose a fish, its on cheap hooks. Not everytime I catch a fish. I dunno, it was awful.

Cudaman?? the pic of the two fish out of Tokul dont look like steelhead. they look like small chinook. The scales are way different then head.plus there were no spots. What color was the meat? Im curious. Nice fish no matter what.

Fished the Pilchuck yesterday. Knew there was little chance of catching anything. Water was so fast the spinner was planing most of the time. Visibility- 6". I just couldn't resist when driving by and seeing one of the most popular spots empty. I always keep the rod in the truck. Felt good just to be fishing.

I use Gomakatsus or Owners. Those are what I use . I didnt say they werent steelies . Its just the scales are way different then Steelhead I've caught. Those almost look like Kokes or Donaldsons which I dont see how they could be in Tokul. Cutties yes but salmon and other trout no.Just an observation. Im not implying something Fishy!!! Hahahaha

Yep Gamikatsus or Owner only for me too Rac, One day I was low on cash and hooks and I saw Brads, 50 for like 5 bucks. I proceeded to lose 4 fish in a row. I threw all those away lol

Hit the wallace today behind the hatchery and the mouth. Pulled 2 white fish out from behind the hatchery and and saw a silver swimming around and that was it.
My rod and reel, they comfort me.

definanitely owners or gamis. I like Owner hooks myself, but sharp is sharp, and fat bulky bendy breaky hooks are just that. I mean, you get what you pay for really, Gamy's are a bit more expensive for the most part. spent a couple hours at Tokul today, there were a few freshier fish, I broke off a chromer and couldn't keep up with another beast of a fish. 0 for 2. I swear the catch ratio of hooked fish to landed fish is less than 25% there. They weren't being shy though, which was neat. I saw 'em swim up and down the whole creek. Up at the top I saw this ginourmous monster buck that must've had at least five leaders hangin' from his jaw. Up past the cable, he must've got tired of being tugged on. Really, people talk about how it's sight fishin' and unfair, but it takes a better angler than I to bring in a big one there. Or fifteen or twenty pound test line. I fish with 8 or ten.
