Snoho Coho!

Post by Matt » Mon Sep 27, 2010 8:53 pm

Well, it finally happened... the first salmon has spilled its blood on the new boat. A nice silver out of the Confluence Hole on the Snoho today. Took an orange Brad's Wiggler around noonish today. What can I say, it is LONG overdue but I am completely beside myself to have finally put a fish in the boat after much effort and a huge learning curve! And it was a hen ta' boot! Got some roe for the freezer.

Sorry for crappy pix, cell phone is all I got in that department right now :(

Nice job!
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

that fly hurt though! he was on his back cast and it whipped around my neck and the hook caught me in the jugular, luckily the barb didnt make it in
Matt is your sled an 18 foot with a 115 hanging on it? Looks nice though

LOL Curado, yah flying 1/2 oz cannonball weights are something to fear as well, but only when we fish with Benjamin. The boat is a 17' not 18, and yeah its a 115 Yami, pushes the boat pretty good at 30 mph on plain, tops out at 37 mph if I pin it open, have the wind at my back, and am going downstream :safe:

I think I am going back up there tomorrow with a friend of mine, hopefully the fish gods smile upon us again.

That's the plan, gunna pull plugs through that same water and if we can't turn a keeper or two we are going to go throw eggs and shrimp down along "the wall". I'll text yah if we stir anything up.
