deep lake (grant county) makinaw

Post by salmonbarry » Sat Nov 24, 2012 7:35 am

Hi there, so in looking at the lake index i noticed that this beauty of a lake holds lake trout and wondered if anyone has ever targeted them. I discovered the kokanee fishing here last year after staying at Park lake resort and was planning on the same thing next year and was wondering if i should bring along the lake trout gear and give it a shot. Just curious because I could not find one report on anyone even fishing for them. There has to be some monsters lurking in the depths of this lake.

thanks! salmonbarry

Even though the lake database lists lake trout in deep lake I feel it's in error. You might call the Ephrata WDFW to verify.

I grew up in that area and have family that own land in the [biggrin] area. I have never seen anything of real size come out of that lake ever. The wdfw plants then kills it off before it has a chance to get decent size fish in there. I have never seen makinaw in there. But who knows. You want monster makinaw go fish Chelan.
