So I was out with the Family driving to and around Mt Rainer. I was driveing up FS RD 52 and came arcross a camper walking with a couple of fish. Both were about 15 inches. I stoped and aksed him were he got them. He told me that the State Creek was just stocked yesterday about a 1/4 of the mile up the road. h said stop at the next bride and you will see about 300 trout swimming in a big hole.
So I had to check it out. Sure enough there they were, a I walked down to the water there was a guy throwing his line in, not 5 seconds later he had a 14 incher on the shore. Plus about another 1/4 mile up stream there was two guys fishing who were jsut killing them as well.
Of course I didn't have any of my gear with me today#-o
So if anyone wants to get some good trout fishing in, then head on over just north of Packwood.

East on the 12. Or just South of Mt. Rainer National Park. Since they stoked the river chuck full, I wonder how well the the lake would be. I bet it's loaded. That area doesn't see a ton of pressure except during summer months. We use to go up there every year when I was younger. Good times. And beautiful scenery.

depending on where you are coming from, either way it Skate Creek road or look for FS 52.
There is a bridge, everyone refers to it as birdge 4 but if you are coming up from Packwood then it would be three because four you have to detour of the road to get to and it's closed to traffic.
here is a link to the location

Was a 2 and a half hour drive for us, but well worth it. Was my daughters first time catching trought. She has caught some perch before and that's about it. Now it's time to get her a Salmon.
I was there today and caught seven with my daughter. Brought home 4, 2 of wich were 14 inchers.
Was a great day, I showed up there around 7:30 and they didn't start bitting until 11ish. Some people there were catching them just not us in the morning.
the fish are still in that hole and from what a camper told me the creek got a total of 900+ fish and that hole got 400+ of that.
Some have moved up or down stream though.
good luck
