One group I know of caught over fifty 'eyes the other day. I may have to knock the dust off my boat and take a little road trip!!
Fish and men are alike. They both get in trouble when they open their mouth!!

:thumright OK gentlemen, I am expecting that you will be posting reports soon.
Too much water, so many fish, too little time.
RE:Kettle mouth Walleye
Yes, Thanks a lot for the info. I am tired of the ice so i will deffenetly be heading that way. I was hoping some one could give me a little bit of info. on what a person might try and use for them in those waters? If i were to say i would throw some jig? Like maye black or something and let it bounce on the bottom for a while? Cranks/ not really sure i am usually a largemouth bass fisherman. I really just want to hook into some nice Walleyes. Any tips would be helpfull. Once i get tehre for a day and try thinhgs out i will catch on and let you all know how the fishing is, i just want to be equiped a little bit before i head out there. some kind of a game plan ya know. Anyhow keep on fishinga and stay safe. :bball:

Bazzdude, I hope to try soon. If you go try a 1/4 jig tipped with a gulp minnow Color sometimes black sometimes chartues combos or even pumkin. If you are fishing for shore and quite possibly the best technique (for me) to catch Walleye this time of year is a large egg slip sinker on your main line then swiveled to 24'' to 36'' of leader a 2/0 hook and a large night crawler hooked through the head only (so it can wiggle like a leach).

I went to Colville on tuesday this week and there was two boats fishing just upstream of the bridge (north) at Kettle falls. When driving down to Colville, I go past Kamloops Island and the Kettle river at that point is froze solid. The confluence of the Kettle river and Lake roosevlet is open, although I havent seen anyone fishing that area this winter? The enbayment upstream of Kamloops island is always froze this time of year. I often wondered if a guy could ice fish the bay after it freezes. I know theres current in the main channel of the river (which I would avoid for feer of thinner ice). I have caught some very nice eyes in this are in the summer months. The regs include this area as part of the Roosevelt impoundment BTW. TTFN

eustace, you have described a classic Lindy Rig. I prefer it to most any rig except when jigging and then I use a bladebait.
The hi contrast color is usual for this time of year. Simple colors, nothing flashy. And remember SLOW....Verry Sloow.
