looking for a great spot

Hello everyone, new to the forum and the area. Just moved here from the east coast and would love to k.ow where there are some great lakes for fishing within 30 miles of port orchard. Can anyone help me out and point me in the right direction? Thanks for your time. Happy fishing.

Long Lake out in Port Orchard area is nice, as well as Horseshoe, from what I have heard, i only fished there once, and I had no luck. http://washingtonlakes.com/CountyLakeList.aspx?id=17" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is a link to the Kitsap County lakes. There are a few options for you, there are also some mason county lakes somewhat close. Welcome to the site!

Thanks for the tips, I have tried long lake nothing biting horseshoe won't be open till May and don't know where mason county is lol but I will look it up what would be a good lake there?

Trails End Lake isn't too far away, and is supposed to be pretty good. I haven't been fishing in Washington in about 5 years, since I have been stationed in California, except for a few times when I was home on leave. Are you shore fishing, or fishing from a boat?

I would be doing a little of both and I would like to thank you for all that you do for this country. Right now I have a neighbor that takes me out on his boat but I wanna try somewhere other then Spencer lake that I a GREAT spot to catch some nice fighting fish. Lake Nahwatzle in Shelton area is a great lake lost of couple pound rainbows in it.One of the better lakes for bigger trout in that area IMO.

Will you be fishing from shore or with your neighbor on his boat? If you're on shore, try Island Lake or Wildcat Lake in the mornings. Really though, Spencer or Nahwatzel are your best chances at bigger average sized fish.
