Has anybody fished silver lake in Everett ?

Post by Elnino » Sun Feb 16, 2014 8:36 pm

Hi all just became a member a few days ago, and just got into fishing also, has anybody fished silver lake in Everett off of bothell Everett highway? That lake is close to my house and I was wondering is the fish are bitting yet, trout, perch or bass. If so, what kind of baits are you guys using to lure them in? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Check the reports section for Silver/Snohomish. There are period reports posted on this lake.

its been slow lately, a few quality fish in the 14"-22" range being caught here and there. This time of year, if you are shore bound use powerbait or power eggs. Set up a slide weight set up with 12"-36" space between the stopper and your hook. Make sure you put enough bait to float your hook. Check your bait often. If no bites after 30 minutes change bait or leader lengh( space between hok/sinker) or both. Do this often. Until you achieve results.

I fished that lake a few times during the 1980s and caught some lunker bass. On August 20, 1983, I caught and released a nice 22 inch, 6 pound, 4 ounce largemouth bass. Shortly after I heard that the Fish & Wildlife Department were going to poison out the lake. I went back to try to catch the fish again with the idea of illegally transporting her to another lake but couldn't find her. Note: I don't illegally plant bass but in this case I thought it would probably be justified.

I live close to this lake. I drive by it almost everyday thinking I'm going to hitup this lake soon.
I rarely see anyone on the lake. I have seen and heard of people catching perch. It is stocked with trout...where are all the trout?

I plan to hit this lake come spring.

Please. Are you taking a watercraft? If so, I would be interested in understanding how best to get your watercraft to the lake. They didn't do a very good job providing facilities for watercraft.

Carry in water craft at the park at the southern end of the lake., or rent a boat at the park on the west side of the lake if its open, I think its only open in the summer, not sure though. Typically if I want to troll it, I use a raft. float tube kayak, canoe, or possibly a small livingston could be launched also.

When I said "if its open" I'm reffering to the. Boat rental. The lake is open year round. (Clarification)

Thank you very much. I live just a couple of miles from the lake. It just seems dead all the time. I never see surface activity, even after they stock.
