Great article on Steelhead release....What if you don't have a net ? would it be better to slide the fish onto a clean gravel or sand bar for a faster release instead of wearing out the fish and then attempting to release it in the water...Which would be best???

stickers on the way. Good question on the release choice. I think I'd go with the first option, assuming you're reviving and letting the gills get fresh water before releasing.
