Silver Lake in Pierce County

Post by Toni » Wed Oct 10, 2007 9:34 pm

I just noticed, today, that a person in the "New Members-Introduce Yourself!" Execnine whose name is Cheryl is a partner with those who just bought Henley's Resort at Silver Lake. It used to be a great lake to fish. Since there hasn't been as much pressure maybe it will be great still. There was an encouraging report from 9-10-07 at this site in the lake reports. The resort will be open year round. It is a shame that the lake isn't open year round.

She says they are having a fishing derby and all proceeds go to the family of the man who drowned last month.

Has any one been out there?
Hey, maybe it has CARP!
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

I'm glad to hear that it is till going to be open next year. It's a little gem of a lake that I too wish was a yearround fishery. I haven't been there this year because I was told it was closed because the resort owner died and the family was fighting over the scraps. It has a nice bass fishery and a bunch of trout plants for the bass to feed on.

Toni, I dig the signature quote.

I spoke with the new owner when he came into the store I work at. He was posting fliers for a fishing derby tomorrow for the family of the man who drowned there recently. They are charging $35 entry and will be giving all the money to the family. There will be some cool prizes like a 40" Plasma TV, boat rentals, time at the resort, etc. Sounds like he is planning on sinking more than a few dollars into the resort and making it quite a nice place. Hopefully some members go to the tournament and post reports.
