looking for a little help

Welcome to the site.
I'm sure you'll learn a lot throughout the winter here about bassing up here in Washington. Little different then Texas, but they are here and can be caught. You won't find as many big fish here though unfortunately. But good luck with all your fishing up here and let us know if you have any questions..

Howdy Sarge. Another retired USA Sergeant here. New to the area too. I'm working on learning the sound and coast this winter. No bass but I thought the surf perch and maybe flounder would be worth chasing. Better than laying around the house anyway.

To me the thing about fishing in Washington is that you have to be really persistent and you have to keep trying new methods and new products that work well for you. Then when you find what works well you have to find out when it works the best and what other lures will work better at different times. If the fishing here in Washington gives you a hard time then you just have to keep getting out on the water.

Welcome home sarge! this site is like a dream come tru for me i can read up on anything i need rite here (thanks guys). Theres lots of great info and people here to learn from. Do you only fish bass? and what lakes have you been too?

Hey! thanx for the replies fellas,makes me feel welcome.Heres my story real quick.I live in renton,have been fishing the lakes around here and some other areas.Love to bass fish,but also enjoy catfishin,even bluegill,crappie,perch........i guess i could keep going on.anyway i bought a couple small boats up here,and i load one or the other in my blazer and away i go!been fishing a lot of the lakes up and down Military road,kinda nice most of them don't allow gas engines so i throw on the trolling motor.don't catch much but it's quiet and the scenery rocks! This really is a beautiful state.Met some decent folks also.thing is,seems like whatever lake i go to i might catch 1or 2 of whatever but no real good action.anyway i'm gonna head out again here in a bit,it'sabout 0430 wed. morning and i figure i'll hit a few lake around and see what happens. Is fall fishing just not so good here? ,should i wait for spring to really go at it?

if you like bass fishing and your any where near spokane go to eloika lake just google it and get directions every1 i have talked to has been nailing them down there they said 9-15 inch largemouth are just goin crazy right now biting on everything and 15-20+ inch are diffently in there too. i caught a 7 lb 10 oz largemouth down there a couple years ago biggest bass i ever got

I use to live in Renton, there are a lot of good lakes for bass. Take Hwy 169 heading south
out of Renton. There are about six lakes close together. Start with Sawyer Lake. The bass
are still feeding, get out there and learn the lake this fall, and you will be ahead of the game
in spring. From one Vet to another welcome to fishing the north west.
