It is probably starting to come around again now that things have cooled off. Greenlake is great for me from like March-June. By July-mid Sept. it is way to warm and the trout fishing falls off.
I don't recall if I've gone back in the fall?? Give it a shot and let us know. Nightcrawlers work the best for me at G. lake.

I agree, spring time is the best time march through June. It comes back a little bit in the fall. Right now, use dough balls or night crawlers for trout and if you want carp.

I went by Green Lake a few days ago and a couple of guys had caught a half doz nice trout on eggs and worms and marshmallows with slip sinker off the bottom about 30 in. They said that the carp where a no show but they had caught a few gold fish though. They got one trout about 12in while I was talking with them at 10am. They fished along the west side and had doing so for the past few weeks and hadn't been skunked. BTW I didn't see any powereggs or powerbait in there bags.

Just walk along the shore most any morning and you will see people fishin and they will be glad to talk with you. Good Luck, Steve

Basstradamus - I saw a few nice lookin browns in the shallows today. I only had a mepps spinner with me and i tossed it out toward them, but they wouldn't have any of it. What technique should I use to get the browns in Green Lake?

Are you sure they were browns - lots of carp in that lake and you are more likey to see them than the browns. I've caught browns there bouncing a worm off of the bottom in my canoe. Where were you fishing?
