If you have a boat try Lake 12 in Black Diamond. I used to go out there when I first started Bass fishing and could not keep the Bluegill off. Never did catch a Bass worth talking about, to many Blugill.

Almost every lake in king county has panfish. But here are a list of lakes where I have caught them and I know there are there for sure. If I were you I would wait until august for a sure fire bet. I have directions to all these lakes as well. Fell free to PM me for any directions, I would be more than happy to help.

Angle lake(sea tac)
Lake meridian(kent)
Lake fenwick(kent)
North lake(federal way)
Lake sawyer(covington)
Five mile lake(federal way)
old fishing hole(kent)

Your not too far from Coulon...Might be some good fishing out there or too much fishing pressure even for perch? Coulon would be an ideal spot cause its got Ivars and Kidd Valley nearby so if the kids got too distracted or hungry you could get them food and a milkshake or ice cream cone and perhaps get their attention back...

I take my kids to Phantom Lake in Bellevue. They fish off the dock with worm and bobber. I've had them fishing since they could walk. Both of them could cast at 2 years old. Now they're 3 and 5 and they love fishing. They say they love hunting too. Sun fish and bass are an excellent way to start them out.
