Please help. I have heard that braid line is better than mono, and which braid is better? Thanks in advance.

topwater - mono because it floats
bottom - fluorocarbon because it sinks
braid - over and in wood because it has the best abration resistance. fluoro will cut and break easily.
fluoro and braid take more care in tying, and some 'specialty', knots. Not worth the time for me.
I use mono for everything. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Bob, I think that application is a huge factor in deciding what to use. I prefer braid when trolling and mooching due to is low stretch which I think helps with hook sets. I still like to use mono for most casting applications. With braid, I like the fused lines like Spider Wire, Fireline and Tuf Line Plus.

I run mono 99% of the time and really only run braid if I am fishing really really deep (there is NO stretch which gives better hook sets and the ability to break snags off) or for really really big stuff ie Sturgeon.
Otherwise its monofilament all the way.
