I know this is not specifically about fishing but it is in a round about way. I apologize if this topic is in the wrong catagory.
I just bought a 10' 2 person bass boat. I have it on a small boat trailer. I have virtually no experience with baots. I want to start out on Lake Terrell. Terrell has a dock at the launch ramp but no tie downs. Also you are in about 3-4 feet of water before you are near the dock. I need some advice on how to launch my boat. I would like to hear from anyone who launches from Terrell or any lake that could help me. Thanks.
Boat Launching on Lake Terrell
RE:Boat Launching on Lake Terrell
For tie downs you can use your anchor and if you dont have an anchor its as easy as a coffe can and a bag of cement with one of those circle hook things to tie your rope to. Its not the best way to tie to a dock but Ive done it but its only a temporary thing so I wouldnt leave it over night or anything. And in that shallow of water just push off the bottom with your oars until yours oars wont reach the bottom anymore. If you dont have oars then well get some its illeagle to not have oars in a boat of that size, I think the cut off is 17' for a boat when you dont need oars but dont quote me on that, but I know you need oars on a 10' boat for sure and one more thing dont forget your life jackets I found out the hard way on opening day and got slapped with a 87$ fine LOL

yeah i have some oars for my pontoon boat. i also have a trolling motor for whenever i clear the boat ramp.
