I’m trying to figure out where to get these seat raisers/extensions?

I have searched online everywhere but can’t seem to find them.

The pictures are from a Boulton posted on craigslist.

Thanks-

Pretty sure they're fabbed by the boat manufactures. In my custom weld the seat risers are made of sheet aluminum and the raise the back seats too.

Probably won't find them off the shelf.

You can make your own from sections of aluminum 'C' channel. It doesnt need to be one giant piece like that.

You can get it in what ever lengths you want from a scrap metal supplier. They sell it by the pound and will usually cut it to what ever length you want. You will just need to clean up the cut edges.

Call Specialty Metals in Kent. That's where I get my stuff.

Specialty metals is one place Ive been but we usually go to one down on the tide flats in Tacoma - Interwest Metals.

If you Google "scrap metal supplier" you will find all the ones near you.

id use c channel aluminum 1/4 thick by 1"x1,2 or 3" depending how high you want to raise the seat and as long as you need it.

I think I would want a wide base where it bolts to the floor. Probably 2" minimum and preferably 3" wide - but Im a big guy :)

That was all the thunderjet had under my suspension seats. C channel is strong it's not so much the size but the thickness.

I concur. Mine is think sheet .091"?? and welded into a box, there could even be plywood on the back side of the seat.

Im more concerned for the leverage on the fasteners if the seat rocks fore/aft. A wider base will be better for that.

Mine is almost twice the length of the seat fore and aft, about as wide as the seat side to side. Big screws into the floor. There's no give.

We are talking about two different leverage things, but its too much trouble to try to explain it and probably doesnt matter all that much :)
