Harmon TR1 Gold Autopilot Troubleshoot

Just bought a new boat and it’s got a 9.9 Yamaha with the TR1 Gold.

Been having troubles with it connecting so I made an account for this forum to search for some help.

After clicking the deck switch to on and it starts blinking it won’t light up/connect to the remote, its different every time I go out. Sometimes it has connected right away and I’ve had no problems all day long, other times it has taken over 2 hours of blinking to connect. I have tried turning on and off and still no luck, then after awhile of driving around on the big engine it randomly connects. Not sure if it’s user error and im turning on the deck switch wrong or what. Hate to go out not knowing if my kicker will connect to my TR1 remote.

If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated.
