New Member and a New Boat...life is GOOD! After extensive research I ordered my Mav in Sept 08 and received it in January 09. I've fished most of my life and upgraded from a 1999 Tracker Targa 17 to this. I loved the Targa...but always drempt of a Weldcraft. Man, does she LOVE to play in the water too! I look forward to meeting alot of you out doing what we like to do best. Thanks for the warm welcome. Judging from what I've read over the past year, I really think we have some of the best members on the web.

Sweet setup!

Aaron, it looks like a clone of my fish finder, I have a 527c DF myself.

Yeah, I figured it was a 500 series, just wondering which one.

Hi Aaron,

It's a Lowrance LMS520C w/ a Navionics Hot Maps chip. Apparently the 520 is a little better for fresh water and the 527 is better suited for the salt...based on the different transducer cone angles and depth ranges. Thanks for the comments and question!
Steve

At least they painted the tub :-$ :thumright =d>

The half paint even on metal went out with the single battery support system!:-$ :cyclopsan

I have ran many Big Block Duckworths and Weldcrafts over the years all River sleds and you did correct with the extended Transom for your build with your motors!:thumleft:

In fact one of my Best Buds family once owned Duckworth and help with design and hull integrity..

Outfit her to be a work bench of killing/sporting fun and the good news it all ready matches Blood Red LOL :eye: :chef:
Rear deck working lights rear fish and depth finder, downriggers , rod holders and the correct positions on all!

Sweet looking tub!=d>

Red is Dead!:sunny:

P66 on Transducers:cheers:

Cool. Let me know how you like it. The boat I have being built right now by Hewescraft will come with a 520c.

Swede...Thanks for the input... I appreciate it. I agree, RMC definitely has one of the best hull designs on the water. This is one of the smoothest rides on the chop that I've been in. Very well balanced w/ the offshore bracket.

Aaron...are you bustin' at the seams yet!?!! It's one of the best feelings in the world when you’re soooo close to delivery! I'm sure your going to love your Hewes...very popular boat for fishing enthusiasts. Saw a lot of them while living in E. WA. You should be quite pleased with the 520…the manual was thicker than the one for the entire boat!

Yeah... I am bustin' at the seams! The wait is loooooooooong. For some, 4 weeks might seem like nothing. For me, I'm the type that needs instant gratification.

I'm glad it comes with a thick manual. I have a lot of plans for that 520c. It's capable of doing a lot, I just hope it's capable of what I need.

Come on Aaron...he ordered his in Sept and got it in Jan. You are so lucky to have to only wait the time you have left.
It will be so nice when comes. Are you going to take some vacation when it does get here?

I have the smaller but no less performing WC Angler. I would not trade her for anything. Just right for an old guy alone...like me.

Hi Reign...it's been a long time comin' man! I'd like to try for Cutts in your neck of the woods sometime. Many Thanks, Steve

Wm: I definitely agree...the Angler is a wonderful platform too. I never hesitate to go out, and even alone, the bunks make it a snap. My Tracker had them and so does this one...they definitly make launching 'sweet and slick'!

Thanks Dave...I appreciate your comments. I spent a lot of time researching, comparing and narrowing down the field before choosing the Weldcraft brand. There are a lot of good boat manufacturers out there for different needs, I just found the Mav was the best suited for me. I spent a lot of time with the dealer to truly customize this package. I can't say enough about Valley Marine in Yakima...Dan Allen really knows his stuff and his customer service is awesome! He was able to set me up with a one-of-a-kind. The pics I posted do not capture most of the options...other than the obvious graphics package I arranged. I wasn't crazy about the stock graphics or even the optional choice. I figured if I'm going to pay for upgraded graphics...I'll choose my own! I travelled to Valley numerous times throughout the process and helped apply the flame/graphics package in his shop. I rearranged the Weldcraft badges...placing the large badge on the rear instead of on the sides. But looks only get you so far!:cyclopsan It's outfitted with welded downrigger brakets, expanded bow storage pan, wired for bow mount, 50" transom livewell, wash down syst, sloped tow canvas (for those over the hump trips), air ride suspension seats, stereo, full remotes for kicker, 520 Lowrance w/ chip, dual wipers, and had the kicker transom support moved (manufactured) inward a wee bit to help balance out the boat even more. As I said...I spent a lot of time choosing this package. I plan to keep it for a loooooong time. The wife and I went to Lk Wa for a ride yesterday and had a blast. It was her first time out in it, and she loved it! :compress: Thanks again for your feedback and hope to talk again!
