New Taste Sensation

Post by racfish » Mon Jan 30, 2012 8:50 am

While fishing the Snoqualmie on Sunday I discovered a new taste sensation. Sand-shrimp with smelly jelly on Nutter Butter cookies. I usually take Smelly Jelly put a lil in my hands and rub it in like a lotion to hide human scent. Well somehow I had a glob on my finger. I went for the nutter butters around or even after 4:20'sh . BOY is that stuff nasty tasting. Although I didnt want to throw away the cookies so I ate them anyways. [flapper] ](*,) . Im glad the fish like it because I sho did not. [thumbdn]

Why did you wait until 4:20 to eat em? O:)
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

I had a different but sadly similar experience just this weekend. Fishing under covered dock of Ivars, wife is nice enough to bring me a basket of fries after I had used the garlic uv lotion on my nightcrawler...while I am a fan of garlic fries, believe me gentlemen, this was all kinds of nasty. I do not recommend it.

Yea, that's a bad taste. Like when you're fishing the salt and you forget that you've got that yellow sand shrimp goop on your fingers and reach for the doritos. Or when you twist up a smoke with baity hands and end up smoking fresh cured salmon roe. Blech. If your not careful when you're fishing you'll end up tasting a lot of stuff worse than that nightcrawler your friends dared you to down when you were a kid.

Chumming carp with maggots and sweet corn, that is fairly standard. What isn't standard is eating the bait, unless of course they are marshmallows. Mini marshmallows had a knack of disappearing around younger fishermen, which is probably why Power Bait was invented.

Can't remember but it was in the afternoon I was starving and the sandwiches mum made got eaten way earlier.. Reckon I was around 15 years of age at the time.
