Walleye

Post by gpc » Sun May 20, 2007 8:06 pm

Anybody have a good walleye recipe?

My favorite way is pretty simple most of the time I do it right at the lake

You need:
ritz crackers
eggs
milk

Crush the ritz up in a freezer bag, dip walleye fillets (3" pieces) in egg and then dip wallyes in ceacker crumbs. What I do is make a cookie sheet out of foil and cook them right on that in the BBQ Add your favorite seasoning and your set. What I like to do is crush up some cashews as well and mix that in with the crackers. This also works for panfish as well. Easy, cheap and tasty

I like to use Zataran's fish fry mix. I simply coat the fillets and toss 'em in the deepfryer. Then fry up a batch of hush puppies with jalapenos mixed in. Make your own tarter, kids like catsup, sometimes I use lemon or malt viniger. I also enjoy crappie prepared this way.

Zantarans works well too. I somtimes will use zantarans lemon pepper and a little flour and cornmeal along with the crackers and cashews. It tastes a lot better but its really easy to screw up.

How do you make hush puppies? Ive had home made and loved them. But I got some at skippers and didnt like them so I want the REAL ones again
