Snow Geese

Post by racfish » Thu Oct 30, 2008 1:01 pm

I took a trip thru Skagit County yesterday for work.WOW Looks like snow till you honk.Thousands of Snow Geese in the fields. It was unreal.Soon as I get this camera online I'll add a pic of the few fields we saw. Also there were Game Wardens everywhere.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

I have wondered why we don't see them on the east side of the state. Apparently the migratory route they use in along the coast, ranging from Alaska to Mexico. Here is more information on this bird.

What was interesting is how they were spread out,and they only seemed to like fields on the one side of the road.On one road they were all in a field,on the other side of the road with a much larger field there wasnt any.It did seem interesting on what one field had more then the other .Some fields had none all in a small area.

Racfish

Are you the one building the new Wal-Mart in Mount Vernon?

FYI
Mixed in with the snow geese are trumpeter swans
