Well, I'm sorry that I don't have a more positive answer for you. I believe the Chinook run in August. Somebody else can chime in with that. One thing you can do is to read all the area 9 reports in the report section. There are quite a few covering the pier.
My point though was that fishing from most of the piers in area 9,10, is probably worse than playing the lottery. :-$ (For salmon anyway) I know some people will say that salmon are caught. But how many people go there again and again, and go home empty handed. One thing to consider from the Edmonds pier you will want to have some kind of a system to haul up your fish if you got one hooked. Some people use a flat crab ring. It is prob. 35' from the pier down to the water. That is a long ways for a King.
If you don't have a boat I would consider getting a few buddies and going in on a guided trip. At least then you have a good chance of being put on to fish.

I've fished there once for the kings and it's combat fishing at it's worst. You really need to get there early to get to the good spot on the pier. I never saw anyone land one, there were several hookups. Give it a shot to feel the experience!

I fished from the pier in 2007. Not long ago but I am not sure which month it was. That time I lived in Everett and I was there quite often. During the main run average was about 4 fish cough during morning and maybe 2 evening. Once I was there sunday after noon and it was a little rainy. Pier was empty, there was only me any one family. I was with out hope and started plying with my rod when 10 years old boy get hookups. Finally he lost the fish but in general - you never know. There is combat but I don not have a fishing body and people there are friendly. I will try this season again.

The best action I saw there was about 10 kings hooked/landed in about 1.5 hours, a few years ago. Early to late July is good, into early August. Probably starting to get more people now. Thinking of maybe heading there this week.

It's been slow to almost non-existent so far this year. Very few springers for the year. Surprisingly only 2 hooked and landed in all of May, and that was the opening day of Ling and 7 days after that. June has been until the last 9 days very unproductive as well. 4 hook and lost during morning hours in early June none landed.

Things are kind of picking up if you want to call it that. A fish seems to carved out every 2 days. More people than fish, which is par for the course at the pier. Way more oglers than fisherman so far. Again its been a very very slow this year. 3 of the 5 landed in the past 8 days were put on the deck by the same person. I will say it again it has been very slow. Even scarier is that 4 of the last 9 hooked into are by the individual. Then again they do say 10% of the fisherman seem to catch 90% of the fish and it seems to be holding true here.

So far you have to put your time into it, and I'll admit it that I haven't put nearly as many hours into it this year as I did last year. It will be many hours casting into the wind as the off shore wind has been in our faces since spring. Arms will hurt, spirits will be broken, and jigs will be sacrificed to the rock gods.

There are fish to be had but you will have to put the time into and get the lure into the right spot.

Your going to hear stories from old timers and not so old timers of how good it use to be. 10 fish in an hour and a half was nothing. Wait til you hear the story of 72 fish from 8 a.m. to noon several years ago. Or the 15 to 20 fish in the morning every morning all summer long and half that many in the afternoon and evening. Those days are long past - sigh.

I'm starting to come down more often and trying my luck so I might see you.

Finally if you are going to come down on week days before 5 P.M. be aware that the parking lot is seeing some parking lot enforcement going on.
