Where are the Ocean run Coho?
All the coho I'm catching in area 8-2, 9 and 10 are resident 1-2 pounders. Anyone catching bigger ocean run fish? Im worried the Edmonds Coho derby may have a 1st place fish in the 5 pound range. LOL. Any tips appreciated.

They're still coming, starting to show in Port Angles. I fished Point no Point all morning and managed to catch a 14Lb Wild king which released to make more!

The rain yesterday will flush out the humpies and get the coho moving.

they are a tad late, aren't they? The next ten day weather pattern should get them on the move.

I was out for a short time yesterday and it did appear that the storm flushed the pinks out. We only saw a few jumpers and no nets out.

Re: Where are the Ocean run Coho?
I just added a fishing report for area 10, not published yet though. I picked some up on Saturday, good eating but not monsters... 4.5 and 5.5lbs. I was fishing the Edmonds//oil docks/Richmond Beach/Boeing Creek stretch of area 10. First one (the smaller one) in around 100 FOW with 80 on the wire and a green/silver Silver Horde Kingfisher spoon, second in around 300 FOW also at 80 on the wire with a red label herring in a helmet. Fishing was not hot, took around 7 hours to get these two and caught/released a dozen or more shakers and a really nice Chinook in that span.

Re: Where are the Ocean run Coho?
The table and matt are from pro fillet.. You can order them online…
https://www.profillet.com/
The table is $119.00 and the mat is $25.00
I put Scotty rod extensions on mine to raise it up to a nice working level for me.
The rail system I have is made of plastic and does not support the table well when filleting a fish… the table would wobble and move back and forth…. So I cut and notched some PCV piping for support.. I cut and stuffed some foam blocks into the PVC pipes so they would float in case they fall overboard. I think if I had a metal or aluminum track system it would not be as wobbly when processing fish.. if you are only using it as a rigging table you don’t need the PVC supports… Oh and the little pointy notched on the ends of the table hold the fish by the gill plates when filleting it and work awesome!! I also added a drain tube off the back so the bloody fish water would drain off onto the off shore bracket… with no tube it was draining onto the transom fish boxes and making a big mess!!!

Bringing this thread back from the dead, I've only picked up resident coho so far this year but have heard that there are some 8 and 9lb fish starting to show up in area 10. Gonna try to find one for myself this coming weekend. Tight lines all!
