easy fish candy!

Here are some very simple jigs that any one can make. they are very good for all panfish and the trout really like them under the ice. To make the skirt, just cut a tube body [these are 1" tube body's] 1/8" from where the tail starts, put it on first then a full tube body. fish seem to like all the legs. this is the same type of jigs that i use ice fishing Myron lake.

Pretty colors.
We like! I'll bet the fish jump at those - they are so different from what is usually seen I'm guessing.

Thanks for posting panfisher, will have to give it a try. Do you have any preference for certain colors to fish with?

a combo of pink/ orange seem to do well on the trout. yellow/white for the crappie and perch and something fleck'd/ a little darker color for the sunfish. but as you see you may not use all the colors that can be used as one jig will most likel be used all day when its working. as for the trout ,you are trying to bring them to you so something bright seems to get them to come over and investigate.

Nice jigs!
Have you ever considered a hackle collar with a soft body?
I experimented with something similar to your design, but managed to get them hung up before actually catching anything...

Thanks Panfisher for the "easy fish candies" idea. Here is a pic of one I fished with today. It is a bit chewed up, but it put fish in the boat (see RW Report). I will be trying out different colors now.
Once again, Thanks for sharing.

hillbilly tie some of those jigs with a madriver pink worm with char. tenticles would make a killer steelhead jig.

Great looking jigs boys. Nice work on the creativity panfisher, those look like some true trout slayers. And I know Hillbilly's Jigs work, I still have my favorites that kill it.

Well my tube jigs aren't in yet
but the glow jig heads were.
I took out my fly tying kit and the parts I had and made these tonight. My picture is not great but you can see the basics of them.

You duh man. I'm heading to Ted's for the equipment this weekend. Very clean mod. Not clunky by any stretch of the imagination. The non-clunky nature makes for confident fishing. Righteous my man!

Those look really effective! That's quite creative, and thanks for helping us all save some money on premade tackle. Ingenius. I'm gonna try making some for the ice.

Very interesting. I'll bet a similar fly could be tied using a colored bead head, larvae lace and rubber legs. I'll have to give that a try. Of course I wouldn't be using a fly rod for ice fishing now would I? :bigsmurf:

Wellll! you could use the flyrod by dunking in other ice fishers holes that are productive while they are not lookingo:) You would not have to leave your seat:thumleft:
