It was fun making it. Gopro's handle the cold very well. It does help to install little anti-fog strips prior to filming in the cold.
We used a gopro attachment to mount the camera to a monopod; it's a little easier/quicker that way. We're also in the process of mounting a gopro to a multi rotor RC aircraft so that we can film aerial videos.

The second hole worked a lot better than trying to untangle the fish from around the gopro. Editing is also very helpful.
