Spinning Reel Advice

Post by Irrlyndev » Tue Dec 08, 2020 7:10 am

Hi all, new here. So I'm looking for a spinning reel that's around $100 to pair up with a medium-light, fast action pole. I'll mostly be using it for fishing plastics and lighter crankbaits. What are some of your suggestions?

I like my Shimano Symetre 2500FL, Shimano Syncopate 2500FG, and Shimano Stratic 2500FJ trigger reels, $39 each. And my Daiwa Tierra 2500, and Daiwa Fuego 2000SH non trigger reels, $100 plus each if I remember correctly.

I am not sure what more I could ask from a reel in my 80 dollar Shimano Sahara 2500. Buttery smooth

You can buy "Lew's Mach I Speed Spin Spinning Reel" reel. It's price $59.99.

I got a couple of 2500 shimano siennas. They've held up held up great against chum, pinks and trout up there. I use them for gar and bowfin mostly down here since the move. I've had them for about 5 years and out side a little lube now and then and a bail spring replacement they still run smooth. I like them more then some of my higher end spinning reels
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga, except i still get to kill something.

Plueger Presidents are the only spinning reels I buy anymore. Have never had one fail me, never. Ones I bought close to 10 years ago work as well as the day I bought them and have never needed any type of refurb or service. At ~$60 a reel I just don’t believe there’s a better value out there. If there is I haven’t found them yet.
