Bank camping allowed on Riffe?

Post by mypov » Tue Jul 17, 2012 12:13 am

Does anybody know if it's legal to camp on the banks of Riffe? I know there are some campgrounds nearby, but I was wondering if you could use one of the forest roads to get to a bank and camp there?
Thanks.

I have seen people camp along the shore line on numerous occasions, so would think it was allowable. There are some pretty nice primitive campites along the lake shore on the south side of the lake. Camping is allowed at the boat launch at Kosmos.

Update: I spoke with someone at Tacoma Power and bank camping is allowed, but due to a burn ban campfires are not.

On a separate topic, does anyone know if Riffe has crawfish in it? I'd like to set a couple of traps, but don't want to waste my time if they're not in abundance.

Thanks.

i know its late to chime in, but Riffe does have crawfish. caught plenty of bass with small ones in its stomache. i would think your best bet would be where creeks dump into the lake..
