Announcing our Third Annual Fishing Get-Together at Lake Chelan!

DETAILS:

We are excited to announce our annual Return to Lake Chelan Fishing Get-Together. This year's event will be Bigger and Better! We have lot's of fun planned for everyone so be sure to mark your calendar, save the date, and come join us.

We'll be staying at Lakeshore RV Park in Chelan. http://cityofchelan.us/parks/rv/rv_park.aspx. You can call to reserve your space in advance (recommended). The Get-Together and Pot Luck will be next door at the large shelter (same one as last year).

Happenings Saturday: Morning - Gone Fishing! This year we are focusing on all the main species Lake Chelan has to offer - rainbows, lakers, kokanee, and bass. Saturday afternoon there is a group of wives planning a wine tasting tour. Guys are welcome as well. We'll meet up Saturday evening 5pm for our group Potluck. WL.com will again be providing FISH TACOS and a second entrée featuring our Chef in Residence, rseas. After dinner, we'll be sharing gift packs from sponsors. We've lined up great sponsors again, headlined by Mack's Lures. Each angler will get a valuable gift package. In addition to the gift packs, we'll be running a free raffle with other prizes (to be announced). BS and Fish Catching Bragging are Welcome!

Happenings Sunday: Morning - Gone Fishing! Meet "on the water", share hot fishing locations by text messages. No formal closing ceremony.

What you Need: A boat, or arrangements to go out with someone that has a boat and a spot to share. Your own gear. An item for the Potluck (sign up on this thread and I'll update the list). WashingtonLakes.com will provide paper plates, cutlery, and napkins/towels. A reservation if you're staying overnight. Also, you don't have to stay at the campground, you are free to stay anywhere and drop in for the festivities. RSVP on this thread is requested.

We will be there this year, it will be two of us. We will chime in with the food we are bringing at a later date. Last year Halibut season got in the way of going to Lake Chelan. When we fish that area we stay at a great little resort on Wapato Lake. It's not the parks dept. run park, it is on the other end of the lake and is owned by a very nice family.

Thank you ncwflounderer! My trip before the get together has been booked. But since I like this site so much and love this fishery. Im gonna get a little crazy. I will offer a half price trip May 1st also. I will also offer 25% off to Washington Lakes members during April 27th-30th! If this Lake is on par with previous years this is PRIME Kokanee time.

I got too excited and tried to set the hook too fast! I'll bring a broccoli/cauliflower salad again. Andy

Great deal for the members, thanks Zack. Everyone, we have several guides lined up this year, all offering 1/2 price trips. Book them while they are still available. Don't forget bass with Keith Jensen of Big Wally's GS. May on Lake Chelan for bass can be pretty hot fishing!

Since the kid is in "real" school now we won't be able to come over until Friday afternoon. I don't really want to set up camp in the dark. Can anyone tell me what the closest hotels are to the campground (one that can accommodate a truck and 20' boat)?

there are also several hotels in town and i see many who park on the street with their boat in tow.

We will bring dessert of some sort.

I started looking at what was the closest lodging to the campground and park. Ended up booking Fri/Sat at Darnell's Lake Resort which is next door to the campground to the north.

For anyone not wanting to camp they are walking distance to the campground and park and are running a $99 per night special for that weekend. Two options for ground floor/beachside rooms - Full kitchen, 1 queen and a queen pullout or kitchenette with a King bed. They also assured me they have ample parking for boat trailers. The only downer is their boat slips are high and dry that time of year.

Now, what to bring for the potluck..

Heads Up Everyone, Zack informed me he is booked for Saturday. Still have 3 other guides offering 1/2 price trips.

I'm adding a "Share a Seat" list to the Pot Luck/RSVP list. If you have a spare seat there are members that would be thrilled to get a chance to go fish the lake. Just respond on this thread and I'll add your name. Indicate how many free seats you have.

Those that take free seats, goes without saying, should offer to help with gas, etc.

And don't forget the 1/2 price guides!
