I realize that I could just call the store, but I am throwing it out to you guys here.
Does anybody have any experience in knowing if I buy an item in the store at Bass Pro, and I use partially a gift certificate, along with whatever cash/debit the remainder of the purchase price.... If I can return the "Unused item" with receipt,
for a full cash refund. I do not want a store credit, and I don't want the amount of the BP gift card to be returned in another gift card.
The product that I need, they do not sell, and basically I just need to turn that gift card back into money any way that I can, and shop elsewhere.
Thanks!

Re: Bass Pro item return question..
As far as I know, gift cards are treated as cash in Wash. If the card is gone, they would have a hard time putting it back on the Card. I don't see why they wouldn't as face value is face, value in most circumstances so, I guess it really all depends, like Macy's sells discount cards, say $7.50 for a $10 card. They will not give cash back as the scammers will go out and buy a bunch of them then use them to buy stuff and then they return it trying to get cash. Well it seems Macy's doesn't like to subsidize meth or heroin addicts so store credit only. I have returned items at Cabelas that I used a Cabelas gift card to purchase. I still had the card and they asked if they could just put $ back on the card, tax and all as I was planning to shop there anyways. I know the goal is cash but I'll bet Bass Pro has some nice stuff you'd be very happy playing with. And no I don't think you are up to any nefarious deeds. Put on your shiny shoes and snug up that tie with your best smile.

Yeah, I hear ya. I think I over thinking things here. My wife meant well with giving me the BP cards, but honestly the big box fishing store are not usually in my path.Bodofish wrote:As far as I know, gift cards are treated as cash in Wash. Re: Bass Pro item return question..
I don't know about BP, but had a problem with Cabelas once a couple years ago. It's a long story, but in the end they wouldn't credit money used from a gift card back to me. They'd only refund what additional I had charged to my credit card for the item and then send me a new gift card in the original amount. It was convoluted and ended up costing me additional money in the end as they will not refund shipping for an item that's been purchased with a gift card either.
Re: Bass Pro item return question..
I highly doubt that you will receive cash for a gift card refund. What bodo said is a common occurrence. Thats why you can buy giftcards online at discounted prices. People want cash and are willing to take less.
Re: Bass Pro item return question..
If you just want to turn the BPS card into cash, you can sell your gift cards at those Coinstar machines for cash. Sure they take a cut, but it might be less than the value of your time and the hassle of doing a purchase and return.
