Interesting things you have come accross while fishing
I was digging through my photos for the "photo location" game and came accross these pics that I took on a hike in to Tomtit Lake. It got me thinking that I have seen some pretty interesting/weird/randomly cool stuff while out fishing and hunting.
I thought it might be cool to see or hear about some random things you guys have stumbled accross while out on the water or in the woods.
This old abandoned excavator caught my eye in particular because I work around heavy equiptment all day. It may not seem like it but those hydraulic cylinders were massive. A modern machine of the same size does not have anything near that big. Awesome![woot]

Deer swimming across Tanwax. 3 bucks eating together on the shore of Lake Sammamich. A Bass chasing a minnow that cleared the water, I then caught the bass with a rattle trap. A couple bass chasing a mouse and a lizard at the same time in a small pond. I caught one Bass with my rubber worm. The mouse got away, the lizard got caught by the other bass.

Gotta love how aggressive/hungry bass can get sometimes.:shaking2:Amx wrote: A Bass chasing a minnow that cleared the water, I then caught the bass with a rattle trap. I once caught four chairs off the same dock. Almost landed a fifth, but it got away

Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook
He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

Oh ya, there was a time on Banks Lake in the early/mid '90s that I came across a jet fighter.
Ok, acually it came across me as it went uplake at about 200 to 500 feet off the deck around Steamboat. That was exciting. Wish that would happen more often. :bounce:
Then there was the time a tornado went past a bass fisherman at the south end of Banks. I wasn't there that time.

Saw a deer swimming through the lily pads on Kitsap Lake as i was fishing about 20 yards away. Couple days after that I saw a small duck get taken down by a bass... never did catch the fish. Coolest thing thats happened to me though was my first day out on American Lake. Had a bunch of scuba paratroopers jump in the lake from Chinook helicopters within 50 yards of my boat! I'm in the Navy so I'm used to being around the military but that was just too friggin' sweet! The one day I didn't have a camera too! I have to think of some other stuff and keep my camera handy for this thread, awesome idea btw! Hope this thread doesn't turn into a slugfest like every other one though! LOL!

A few things come to mind,I've had a few run ins with black bears but nothing serious, just enough to keep me on my toes.
A few on here are aware but last summer I played rescue diver and pulled 2 boaters out of the water,as it would turn out
this couple couldn't swim and didn't wear any PFD's,almost drowned myself when one of them was freaking out so bad
that they grabbed me,held on and pushed me down.....she out weighed me by a solid 200lbs. Honestly never had more fear in my life....anyhow,got both of them out and I went home with a new lease on life.
Now I've adopted a new moto.... Can't swim,no pfd....sit on the shore

I was fly fishing the Owyhee River northwest of Boise enjoying the sounds of the water moving over the rocks and the local wild bird calls. The serene sounds were suddenly muted by four F-15's flying down the canyon with after burners perking. I immediately started CPR on myself and retrieved by heart from out of my throat. When things returned to normal, I said to myself, "Well, that was cool.......I think"[blink]

I had a bull moose CHASE my boat over in a slew off the PO river. I think it would tried to climb in if I had let it get close.

We'd been fishing on a creek going into the Columbia. Walking back to the park on the river where the truck was parked, we came across a couple. He saw us and she didn't. Moments later she did too. The fight that ensued was just hilarious.

Down here in Arizona, one of our holes we fish, theres 3 dead cows within 20 feet of eachother. One is just bones. And the other two have there front half of there body still there. The rest is gone.

I was fishing Beaver lake in my float tube watching a Falcon chase a Bald Eagle all around the lake. Very cool to watch that.
Then the wind kicked up pretty good. I was at the NW end of the lake by the boat launch in the cove. The wind started swirling around and started a small tornado (if that's what you want to call it). I was right in the middle of it. The wind was strong enough to pick up the water about 8 to 10 inches off the surface of the lake. I was in the middle spinning around in circles and couldn't do anything about it. Scary and exciting all at the same time. Lasted for about 30 seconds although it seemed like forever.
I guess this one could go on the "Story of a lifetime" thread.

Fishing Long Lk in Port Orchard, saw an osprey crash the water and snag a fish. As it was flying away with its lunch, an eagle came from out of nowhere and chased the osprey. Round and round they went for a bit, then the osprey finally dropped the fish. The eagle swung around and caught the fish in mid-air. Awesome sight.

I mentioned it in my Eloika post, but this season while ice fishing Eloika two planes with ski's(?) practiced landing on the ice over and over. They'd land one after the other, run the length of the lake, then take off, circle around and repeat.
RE:Interesting things you have come accross while fishing
Trout fishing on Panther Lake and had a lady do a little topless sunbathing for me. I was so impressed I came back a second day and she repeated the show......:cyclopsan
Also I hooked into and brought to the surface a Jet Ski fully intact and sunk to the bottom right behind Haystack rock on Banks.
