Sure, kick a guy when he is down! I won't be making the tournament. I will be getting back into Spokane, at 7pm that night. If it was earlier, I would for sure be making an appearance with te USS Pend Oreille!
Hey I don't want to hear it....the last time I fished POR was in May of last year the next time I am going to get to fish it might be next year. If I were you I would so bomb up there once I got in just to hang out with a bunch of Pike hunters...can't beat that!!

The saga continues as one man tries to begin to make some kind of sense of the Northern Pike issue and its effects. Check out my blog.

Now for a little humor. Check out Native Secrets for bringing on fish hunger. Here is a Kalispell native secret to bring on the hunger of the Pike. First: you need a handful of dried pine nuts, last fall's cones from Skookum Creek valley. Second: you'll need fresh mint leaves found on the rivers eastern shore. Third: and most importent, shells of Osprey eggs from the trees at the mouth of Campbell Slough. Mix the nuts, leaves and shells into a paste, adding only water drawn from the Cusick Springs well. Now pack your favorite lures in the paste for two moons, no longer. Remove the lures and save the paste. Now before you start fishing at "One Cow Island" ball up the paste and toss it on the island chanting "Cee Cee Aw" "Pike Wa Ha Ha". Follow the chants by casting to the west six times and on the seventh you will be rewarded with a fine Pike to be released while chanting "Pike Wa Hee Hee". This will be followed by no less the 14 fish. This works only on the sacred waters of the Pend Oreille River. Please do not mention from where you heard the tale as it will bring me bad luck.

A little local fish humor: Ha Ha Hee Hee.

Just a reminder the "Native Secret" is not real. Those of you who have been asking for directions to these spots, which are real, are also kidding aren't you? However if its found the paste actually works please let me know. Much thanks to all who have checked out the blog, in less than 2 months over 4000 pageveiws. Who would have ever thought my stories would interest so many or anyone for that matter. Good luck and good fishing.

Many updates and changes to the site with more coming. There is now an email address for you to send your stories and pictures. I'm up to 8 pages and growing, full of pictures from fisherman like yourself. If you do send pictures and stories in it takes a couple weeks for me to review and edit, so be patient. Truth is I'm probibly fishing somewhere or working (oh there is that). The blog isn't just about Tiger Muskie you'll find Salmon, Steelhead, Bass, Trout, Pike, Lucky lures, Flies from the bench and soon "Where to fish and Stay in Washington"The site is averaging 1000 readers a month from right here in Washington and another 200 from around the world. I thank you all for the support and interest.

Forever Fishing Washington State

Post by sparky1doug » Sun Mar 04, 2012 1:47 pm

I can't believe its been a year already that the blog has been up and running. In a few days it will top 10,000 page views, it now averages 75 fellow fisherman visiting the site a day. It all started with fisherman from right here on WA.Lakes, your pictures and stories. Still most of the pictures are of 25 or so anglers whom have come together because of Muskies Inc. and Northern Pike fishing. People from every state in the U.S. and 34 counties around the world are interested in the pictures and stories of local Washington fisherman, (we must have it pretty good here in the state). Please continue to send in those pictures and stories your fans are waiting. (sounds kinda funny doesn't it) foreverfishingwast@gmail.com The site is up to 11 pages now, the newest being "Walleye Anyone". The site is all about fisherman just like you and me. So a big THANK YOU to everyone who has visited the site and contributed.

Hey Sparky,

Love the avatar! I can still remember that was an awesome morning out on Lake Mayfield when I took that shot through the fog. I believe this picture exemplifies what fishing with a family member is all about.

It is good to see more Anglers out fishing with their children and those people that are truly important people in their lives...

As the Muskies, Inc. slogan goes: "Youth, Fisheries, Research". If we all pay special-attention to these important areas the fishing will only get better in the future for us all. Here's to looking ahead...

Tight-lines
