Wow those are super cool. I would like to know the details of making them. I guess you would just have to go at it until you got it right. I'm going to show this to my wife and ask her to fix these on my birthday but with the sausage legs and head as another poster suggested.

No docks to tie a boat to at the picnic area/side of the 'park'. The only docks are within the swimming area = no boats.

There is one small dock at the launch/parking area. Can't tie up there and is too far away while picnicing anyway.

Gas motors fine, water sking after 9am when the speed limi goes up to 35 mph until 6pm when the speed limit goes back down to 5 mph.

So fishing from dark to 9am and 6pm until dark. Yes you can fish all night long, but the city boat launch gates don't open until 6am and close at dark I think, I can't find the pictures I took last year of the sign.

W0W, you guys are awsome, I would love to meet some of hardcore fishermen. I only know one neighbor and one best friend who lives 2 hours drive away from me. I live in Vancouver WA. With 4 month old baby who gets car sick, this trip won't happen. I just want to say thank you WL.com and Jersey Mike, you guys are awsome!

Since people will be coming from all over, I'm going to encourage you to map it out on Google Maps:

Google Maps

I'll try to get out there and take additional pictures since the overview is kinda old. With limited shore access I think you should plan on fishing early and then taking your boat out and parking it. The boat parking area I don't think is in direct view of the picnic area, but when I go out I'll try to find the best location to keep an eye on boats, but plan on stowing your stuff. If you fish when the gates first open and bring your boats in around 10:30 or so that should be ideal.

The boat ramp entrance is off 152nd Way SE - DON"T go into the park off SE 272 to launch!

The WDFW launch is just past the park launch. it's rougher and smaller.

The area where you have typed 'this may be a good area' is now a large play area for kids with rides and jungle gym type stuff. In that same area, but closer to the water is open grass and also close to where we should be able to beach the boats.

Lake boating regs;

The fist picture is the sign at the WDFW launch. The second picture is the sign at the Kent city launch. Don't over think the sign at the city launch.

Speed limit is 35 during skiing times between 9am until 6pm every day. Counter clockwise only at speed. Not at 35 mph? then stay on the shore side of the buoys unless you go across the lake from one side to the other, and can go in any direction. Before 9am and after 6 pm the speed limit is 8mph, can go in any direction anywhere on the lake.

Personal watercraft? = seadoos = pay attention to the city sign.

Here's the latest Updated List:

Mike Carey wrote:OK, what a generous offer from tnj8222!

The 2011 WashingtonLakes.com Picnic is officially a GO!

When: July 30th (Saturday)

Where: Lake Meridian park.

What: Our annual picnic and fishing fun-fest! Fun Fish in the morning (no derby) and lunch at 11:30am. We'll have lot's of free WL.com items plus free raffles for lot's of nice sponsor gifts.

As in previous years, this is a POTLUCK. Jersey Mikes will provide the sub sandwiches. Members please bring either chips, side dishes (like salads, pasta, beans, etc), and deserts. WL.com will bring plates, plastic wear, and glasses, as well as beverages for all. If we can have a few coolers full of ice that is always helpful. Bring your own chairs, tables, blankets. It's a nice green park but I'm not sure how many picnic tables there are.

Lake Meridian is 2 miles east of Kent. It has bass, perch, bullhead, and trout. There is a nice fishing pier for the shore anglers and a WDFW boat launch, and a city launch.

I know the pinks are going to be running end of July into August, but I hope members will take advantage of the generosity of Jersey Mike's and join in the FUN and FISHING FELLOWSHIP!

Please starts posting your RSVPs so we can get an idea on the number that will attend.
