I've got three Ugly Stick Lite's, a Whupp'in Stick, and a Cabelas Fish Eagle II (Ultralite). I can't say enough about all of them except the Whupp'in Stick- it is very heavy and has poor action.

I've got way too many (maybe 40 rods). Some bargain basement K-mart special rods, to high-end Loomis rods and everything in between. I've also got the same amount of reels. I should probably have a garage sale to clear out some of this stock.

RE:what kind of fishing pole do you have?
Im with you Shaddy.I got alot.Salmon poles are usually Wright Mc Gill with Penn 109 reels. The others are Triton Downrigger poles. For steelies and salmon in rivers I use my Lamiglass or fenwicks.I have 15 Fenwicks that I bought years ago Some so old they dont have ceramic guides.I dont buy them Eddie Baur or Mercer Island expensive stuff. Those are for impressing folks.I use my Fenwicks.I catch just as many fish as everyone does using that overpriced Stuff.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

RE:what kind of fishing pole do you have?
I'm with everybody else -- lots of fishing rods. My favorite would be my 3 Temple Fork finesse fly rods and my 2 lamiglass rods for salmon and steelhead fishing. G Loomis rods for my halibut and lings/bottom fish. I own a small spinning rod, but I haven't used that in years it seems.

RE:what kind of fishing pole do you have?
this is so good to hear.. I thought I had a problem with keeping fishing rods. I have about 13, a couple of ugly sticks, a couple of lamiglas, and the others which I can't remember. I tend to keep two nice bottom fishing salt rods, two nice spinning salt rods with large capacity reels for beach casting. Two or 3 decent fresh water spinning rods with Mitchell 300 reels. These are the Mitchell 300's from the later '60's early 70's. I also keep a couple of bass rods, names escaping me, and I need to part with them since I've given up on baitcaster reels. And finally I keep a couple of cheapo freshwater rods to loan to peaple or to have my kids fish with. Now that I see others have this problem even worse,, I may keep most of my rods after all.:bom:

7 Shimano
3 North x Northwest
1 Ugly Stick
2 Okuma
3 Lamiglas
2 Quantam
2 Daiwa
As well as a few more random ones, mostly middle ranged Spinning reels I lend out to folks I don't really trust with nicer gear.
I suggest Shimanos. I've had great luck recently with them, and they are priced very good too. I haven't bought any rod or reel other then Shimano in the last two years...

RE:what kind of fishing pole do you have?
There must be something wrong with me.
I have four fly rods, two Sage 5wt, one Orvis 9wt. and an old fiberglass Fenwick 857 that is basically a collectors item.
I only really use the newest Sage and the 9wt. Orvis.

RE:what kind of fishing pole do you have?
1 Pflueger
3 Ugly Stiks
2 Daiwa
1 Quantum
and a couple others...
I don't have any *high dollar* rods/reels but I have those which I prefer.
I'm not yet to the point that I can justify over $100 for a combo...besides, the day I get one of those will be the day my 3yr old niece knocks it over the rail, or my brother in law shuts the door on it.

I haven't counted my rods but it must be about 30 counting halibut rods, salmon rods, steelhead rods, bass rods and some "just plain old fishing poles."Mike Carey wrote:30+ ...and I love em all. :-)
A nice bass is too valuable a resource to enjoy catching only once.

RE:what kind of fishing pole do you have?
2 Ugly sticks
1 basspro something or other
1 shakespear that has lasted 20 years
2 zebco poles for salmon
1 "unnamed" pole.... but it does the job.
Love them ugly sticks. Both of mine are ultra lights. I simply won't buy any other poles now, unless it's an ugly stick.

RE:what kind of fishing pole do you have?
I have over 100 poles and used most of them. some are new like the Fenwicks, gLoomis, Lamiglas, Sage, and a lot more newer ones. but most are collectible like Hurd Casters and Supercasters, Gentleman streamliner, a Master Kaster, South Bend 18 ft Lazy Days rod, a Belly Reel and pole and Bamboo poles for fly fishing, casting, and spinning. The list goes on. I really prefer the Ultra light Fenwick and gLoomis. The 5 weight Sage is my go to for fly fishing. I don't have many bass rods cause I really don't understand the in's and out's of the sport. Those of you that do well in the bass category...I applaud you.

Fly Fishing is the art of attaching a fake bug to a line and relying on the appropriate manipulation of the rod to deceive the fish into eating a sharp steel hook covered with feathers and fur.

What great timing! From recent comments made by my wife and other family members - I sense a fishing pole intervention brewing. This thread proves that I am right on par with the rest of the healthy happy fishing population.
OK - let see...

drift
float
spoon/spinner
beach
topwater frog
dropshot

Hehehehe A long one. Hehehehehe

RE:what kind of fishing pole do you have?
Got atleast 30 bass rods, probably about 20salmon steelhead rods, around 10 small trout/panfish rods, and my son has 6 different rods. Also got a bunch of broken rods and reels. Lets not talk about lures and such lol. I could start a store.
