Lol home from work went out back, tossed a rvrfshr spinner into the mud for half hour, then again at sunset I put on my go to king drift colors, and wouldn't ya know it, another half hour and got the big nada.. A lil early yet but when the river is in the back yard hard to fight the itch

Casting practice is good medicine:cheers: Gonna be real good having U around to update the Puke:) Think I may even try fishing it this year for pinks if the Mrs will have it. Knowing her she'll send me to the Green if I hit a river cuz the limit is 6 and it's about same distance#-o

Ahhh, the glory days of not fretting about catching/bringing fish home and instead just gettin 'out on the water. That's OK, might be able to get the little one into it this year:thumright That would be very cool:sunny:

Floating the Puy?

There is a decent place to launch a toon off 115th/116th st but don't know of a take out.

Maybe behind the flash cube building ?

I'm too old and not strong enough to be hauling it and gear up a bank.

Thanks for any tips/knowledge.

Anyone else want to give it a try?

Chased a small school of pinks up and down the river in my back yard, weird thing is the water they seemed to be hanging in most the time was only about 3' deep...

pinks are weird like than they will hold close to banks to stay out of the current

Went to the puke today for a couple hours. It was dirty and brown. Nothing new there. Drove down dike rd about 1/2 mile beyond the boundry and man, they were schooled up thick and angry. Every 5 seconds a fish was rolling. Clear across the river. Some of them looked a little big to be pinks, but I dunno. It was the hardest thing to step away and drive back upstream without fishing. It was empty up top, maybe they'll go through this evening. Another week and it's ready.

Anybody been out on the Puke today? 16th is coming up for the lower river and should be at least a few good schools pushing in thatlower section.

If'n I aint gettin' much in the salt this weekend then I may switch to flo, I mean hammering them biter pinks with a pool cue and mono made for seal just to get something in the smoker!!!#-o :-" :rambo: :rambo: If their mouths aren't too soft I might even try a speed record for landing them :clown:

If I can get some smoked up and/or BBQd, I may make that 26th get together to play finesse a bit with them and say hey to some of the great guy from the board here (seeings how I missed the annual Lake Meridian event that looked like a lot of fun). Hmm, if the Mrs would let me I might even try bringing my 8 year old but thinking the water may be a bit swift still for her. Is this ankle deep wading in that area? Seems all the snow melt rivers are running a bit high this year with the cool summer.

Boy those pinks are getting big! :)
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

GEEZ Brian, that thing looks close to pushing 20? And pretty bright for the river too!

One of the biggest (maybe THE biggest?) looking 'Nooks out of the Puke I've seen posted this year! Congrats.
Those 20 pound Puke Kings are definitely great warmup fighters to get you ready for the pinks:-"

Went 3/9 in 45 min at the puke today. If I had more time I coulda had a hell of a day. I only had a lil bit of time and didnt bring my net, made it hard to land them lil buggers. I was snapping 10lb leaders trying to horse them onto the bank. Watched a 15lb or bigger even king get brought in sideways. Anyhow kept a 5lb buck a 5lb hen and a 6lb buck.
More fish please!

I was the only one down there luckily my neighbor heard it splashing and ran down with a net, weighed in just under 22lbs on the digital scale, I was stoked.

I did great at the puke today, tired our my wrist and shoulders playing with the pinks. Darn barbless hooks though, took me a lot longer to get my limit than I wanted.
