Drift Boat question
Im looking at drift boats and plan to buy one within 2 weeks for under $4000. There are some really nice rigs on craigs list rite now.
Biggest question is do I want an aluminum boat or a glass one?

RE:Drift Boat question
fiberglass is quieter but aluminum is stronger. but it just depends on the person getting it.
If it looks fishy, Then fish it, If it dont look fishy, fish it anyways. <')}}}}><

RE:Drift Boat question
My buddy has a 16 ft fiberglass clackacraft he got for around three. Been on a few drift boats and his has been the nicest ride.

RE:Drift Boat question
Willies new are 5 to 6 grand. but i al biased towards them due to the fact thats all i have really been on the oars for. 17x60 is the best platform out there

Thanks for the info guys! Dang there are to many to choose from on CL. Going to check out a couple this weekend.
17X60 seems like a huge thing to be rowing on a river but some extra space would be nice. Is it much different rowing a 15' Vs a 17??
RE:Drift Boat question
stay away from alumaweld drifters. a 15ft is alittle easier but i like the wider width for running some of the rough patches i have been thru. but a 15ft should do the job fine. it depends on the length of oars to. i am used to 10fts or some of the new sawyer x paddles. trust me if you are gonna be on the oars all day the x paddles by sawyer are absolutley spot on never miss a beat.

Good info, Why not an alumaweld?
Also what else do you guys recommend to look for or stay away from in a driftboat?

RE:Drift Boat question
because the aluminum is weaker in them and they are over priced
