Employment opportunties?
Employment opportunties?
I was at work the other day thinking I might want a diffrent job. Now I don't want to sound ungreatfull, I have a job that pays decent, in a time that many don't. Sometimes you just get to where you're frustrated and want a change. I got to thinking that this website has members from all walks of life. I can imagine Doctors, lawyers, welders, cooks, waitresses, business owners and so on. You get the picture. I thought that I would start this thread and give members the opportunity to post what they do for a living, and the area they live in. That way if another member saw this list and was, or knew of a potential employer, they could make contact through this website. I contacted Mike Carey to make sure this was something that was OK to post, and he said no problem. I'm not trying to turn Washington Lakes into a job search engine. I just thought we all have a common interest here and with the employment situation like it is in this country, why not see if we can hook a few people up? You don't have to be unemployed to post on here. You can have a job, but just keeping your eyes and options open. I'm going to suggest that if you're interested, put your job title in the very beginning of the post, followed by the area you live in. That way someone looking can see right away what your skills are. You may not be an employer, you may just be someone that knows a place that is hiring for a position you see someone mentioning on this list. Let's give it a try and see what turns up. If you end up landing a job through this forum. Come back and let everyone know that it worked. If one person gets hired from this, it will be a success. I'll go first.

Radiation Therapist, treat cancer patients with radiation. Live in Seattle, but work in Tacoma. I always have my ear to the pavement as far as what is out there in my career field, from Bellingham to Portland. If anyone works within healthcare, but in some other clinical practice, give me a shout and I can look within my employer.

25 years working mainframe computers, the last 20 at the same company and the last 15 of that programming/automating em (IBM's zVM & zLinux platforms). Company outsourced the mainframes, I didn't like the outsource company's offer so for the last two years I have been working with an IBM product called Websphere MQ. Would love to code the mainframes again before I forget everything I learned over the years#-o

As some know I am an executive chef for Arnies restaurants at their Coho Cafe location in Redmond. I am always interested in knowing what else is out there. :chef:

Recently Ive been FBI. Now this isnt the exciting law enforcement job ya might think. Im talking about Flat broke indian. I spent 14 years in the telecomunications industry doing pretty much everything from building the system to maintaining it and installing tv telephone and internet. I ran my own satellite co for about 2 years doing directv dishnet and direcway internet. I was fcc certified for 2 way data transmissions through satellite. Was fun but if ya want to run your own business make sure ya keep good paper work. It will cost ya if ya dont. I was a car stereo installer for a few years and really enjoyed it. Right out of high school though I went into the army and was an MP. I screwed up my shoulder pretty bad and my military carreer was cut short. But if anyone has a job offer of atleast 15 an hour doing wiring of somekind Im available. lol
More fish please!
